General

Description

"Dragonbloods are the descendants of ancient dragons, whom either through lust, greed, pride or mishap caused the birth of this unfortunate species. Often, the case of their birth was not of well-meaning, but rather a way for the dragons to create more worshippers, subjects to rule over, fodder for war or in many cases, just a side-effect of draining their young of arcane essence in pursuit of more power. While dragonbloods in many cases still worship their draconic progenitors, a pinch of disdain, mistrust and bitterness towards them still lingers in their dragonblood culture. Even though they suffer at the hands of their selfish creators, their worship toward them is not unwarranted. The dragons, where they still exist, shower their subjects in gold and riches or gifts of power, as long as they get to keep the hoard. Some dragons even compel their subjects to worship them through the arcane bonds within their bloodlines."

Features

Draconic Physicality

You manifest scales and claws reminiscent of your draconic ancestors. You gain the following benefits:

  • Your scales harden. Your scales can be calculated as a masterwork light armor you have proficiency with. Your armored AL as with your scales is therefore 13 + your Dexterity modifier.
  • You grow retractable claws from the tips of your fingers. Extending or retracting the claws requires no action. The claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the normal bludgeoning damage for an unarmed strike.

Features

Draconic Ancestry

  • You have draconic ancestry. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic Ancestry table. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are determined by the dragon type.

Breath Weapon

  • You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the damage type of the exhalation.
  • When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a contested Fortitude check against your Fortitude modifier + your proficiency bonus, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. A creature takes damage equal to 1d6 + your Fortitude modifier per proficiency bonus on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one.
  • The exhalation area can either be a 5 by 30 ft. line or a 15 ft. cone.
  • You can use your Breath Weapon a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
  • At 9th level. The exhalation area is increased to a 5 by 60 ft. line or a 30 ft. cone. The exhalation area can also be a 10-foot radius Sphere centered within 120 ft or a 10 by 30 ft. line.

Wyvernblood

"Wyvernbloods are a specific race of Dragonbloods that are descended from wyverns, a smaller species of dragon. They share many of the traits and characteristics of their dragonblood cousins, but also possess some unique qualities.

Wyvernbloods have a more compact and muscular build than other dragonbloods, with wings that are smaller and more bat-like in appearance. Their scales are typically a darker shade of green or brown, with a rough texture that provides added protection.

One of the most notable traits of Wyvernbloods is their enhanced agility and speed. They are able to move quickly and gracefully both on the ground and in the air, making them formidable opponents in battle. Additionally, Wyvernbloods possess a potent venom that they can deliver through their fangs or claws, making them deadly predators in their own right.

Despite their fearsome reputation, Wyvernbloods are not without their own internal struggles. Like other Dragonbloods, they have a complicated relationship with their draconic ancestors. They recognize the power and wealth that dragons can bestow upon them, but also harbor a deep-seated resentment towards them for their role in their creation. This has led to a certain level of isolation among Wyvernbloods, who often keep to themselves and maintain their own separate communities.

In terms of society and culture, Wyvernbloods tend to be more nomadic than other Dragonbloods, and often travel in small groups or family units. They are skilled hunters and trackers, and have developed a deep understanding of the natural world around them. Wyvernbloods also possess a strong sense of loyalty to their own kind, and will fiercely defend their brethren against any threat."
